Fly Fishing

Fly Fishing

Fish the Nature Coast like never before with a guided Crystal River fly fishing charter led by Captain Tanner Martin. Whether you’re a seasoned fly angler or brand new to casting a fly rod, our tailored fly fishing trips give you the chance to chase Florida’s most exciting inshore species on the pristine flats of the Gulf Coast.

What is Fly Fishing?

Fly fishing uses a special lightweight rod and fly line to cast artificial flies that imitate baitfish, shrimp, or insects. Unlike spin fishing, the weight of the fly line carries the lure forward, allowing for delicate and accurate presentations in shallow water. On our Crystal River fly fishing trips, you’ll learn how to sight cast to redfish, snook, and even tarpon — a true challenge and thrill for any angler.

  • Snook – ambush predators that crush flies near mangroves
  • Speckled Trout – plentiful and fun on lighter setups
  • Tarpon – the ultimate fly fishing challenge (seasonal)
  • Jack Crevalle & Ladyfish – hard-fighting and perfect for fast action
